Open Thread: 8/9, Summer Games!

The events actually start today! I think we have a little bit of everything. Rowing, saber, swimming, beach volleyball, etc.

Those opening ceremonies were a bit long for my taste so I'm definitely ready to watch some athletic competition.

I love Team Handball

The U.S. should totally dominate that. It’s a hybrid of hoops, soccer and hockey.

When I lived in Denver, I got to go down to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and play. If you’ve played basketball or soccer, it’s pretty easy to pick up and a helluva lot of fun.
