I never did much in the way of organized sports as a kid, but I played a lot of invented games that often involved several different types of balls at the same time, frisbees, eating large quantities of foods, duct tape, and/or a team of dogs.

Table Tennis is bringing sexy back

The International Table Tennis Association is disappointed with their un-sexy image and have decided to do something about that. Namely, they've decided to effn' sexy it the eff up.

"We are trying to push the players to use skirts and also nicer shirts, not the shirts that are made for men, but ones with more curves," International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) vice president Claude Bergeret said.

And by "skirts and nicer shirts", Claude "Pant Full of Bone" Bergeret of course means "g-strings, booty shorts and effin' sexy tops that are more prone to showing cleavage and nipples".

It's gonna be all about the table tennis T&A come 2012, fools. Synchronized swim better ask somebody! Beach volleyball better just show up naked.

You know who's already figured it out? Naomi Yotsumoto, that's who:

And of course, there's always the ever popular Biba:

Sexy Brazilian twins everywhere (in Brazil) are getting their paddles and rubbers ready. Get your mind out of the gutter. Those are table tennis terms.

Allan Dykstra signed

We're saved!

True story: I got an IM from the former Davidlizerblog saying Dykstra had been signed and I responded back:

Allan Lenny Dykstra's too old to get excited about. JK!  hahahahahahahaha

That's high comedy.

Open Thread, 8/15: Padres vs Phillies

What's your favorite place to eat at in the park? Have you eaten at the Omni buffet? What about the Terrace restaurants? The question was asked in one of the previous comments sections and I thought I'd throw it out there.

Omni or Terrace?

Go Padres!!

Olympic Kayak looks crazy fun

Olympics Day 7 - Canoe/Kayak - Slalom

Watching Women's Kayak right now. Thoughts:

  • That stadium they're in looks soooo fun. The Disney people should buy that place and build a giant water ride out of that thing.
  • At various points in the competition, kayak looks either super relaxing or really amazingly difficult.
  • How often do you think Olympic Kayakers pee their pants while kayaking? Watching all that water rush by, I don't think I could hold it in.

Olympic fencing in Legos

The U.S. Women swept fencing, which is impressive, but I get worried because Korean women are better archers. Bringing a saber to a bow fight only works once you can get in close. This video isn't of the Olympic team, but it's a pretty good representation of what we witnessed a few days ago.

Padres fans are some of the most loyal baseball fans

Or we're right around average, depending on how you want to look at it. Forbes made a top ten list and Padres fans came in right at number 10.

Forbes based their numbers on how consistent fans have been in attending games since 1991, which seems just as good a metric as any so long as we can be ranked ahead of Dodger and Giants fans. Such fairweather fans.

Actually, I've been hanging onto the mantra that we've got the most fairweather fans in baseball so I'm a little weirded out by these results. I don't know how to act now that I've been told by Forbes that I'm not the only person who's loyal to this crap team. It's like finding out that I'm not the only one in the world who's heard of the incredible vocal talent that is John Mayer. Or being like, "There's a terrific new store for delightful knick knacks that I've just discovered over the weekend called Things Remembered."

Maybe this explains why the Padres haven't gone after free agents. "Those suckers are so loyal! They stay with us through anything!" We're all part of some crazy torture experiment where we're forced to watch bad baseball under the guise of "well we made the playoffs didn't we?"

THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES!!!
